HOUR OF POWER FUNDRAISER FOR THE TED MULLIN SARCOMA RESEARCH FUND

Big Blue Swim SchoolA few friends of mine John Lonergan, & Chris DeJong have developed a swim school called Big Blue Swim School & OLPH Sharks swim team in Glenview, IL.

Now, Big Blue Swim School is partnering with Make It Better, and two-time Olympic gold medalist Peter Vanderkaay to raise money for the Ted Mullin sarcoma research fund. On March 12, 2010, Peter will be swimming in the relay with all the OLPH Shark swimmers and will be signing autographs after the event.

Peter Vanderkaay, was a  member of the world record-setting 800m free relay at the 2007 World Championships…has swam on the 800m free relay that has broken the American record each summer since 2004…gold medalist on the American record-breaking 800m free relay team at 2004 Olympic Games.Won silver in the 800m free relay and bronze in both the 800m and 1500m free at the 2003 World University Games.

Make It Better will donate $5 to the Ted Mullin Fund for every free “Better Letter” subscription it receives.

Donations will all go towards Sarcoma Research at the University of Chicago.  Nick Schmidt is currently receiving treatment for Desmoplastic small round blue cell tumor sarcoma at the University of Chicago, so he will benefit from your donations.

4 to 5pm Hour of Power
5 to 5:45pm Pizza party for Participants
5:45 to 7pm Autograph signing with Peter Vanderkaay

Ted Mullin

Ted Mullin was a Winnetka swimmer that passed away from sarcoma, a rare soft-tissue cancer that attacks young people, in September of 2006. Today sarcoma research is severely underfunded, but we can make a difference. Please read more Here.
